First the videos. Your pick for the BEST VIRAL VIDEO of 2017 goes to WAWA Hoagies, narrowly beating out the dancing gorilla enjoying his time in a hot tub.

In the category of BEST COMEDY SERIES, Pamela Adlon’s beautiful, hilarious, and hypnotic series, BETTER THINGS ran away with this one, taking an early lead and staying with it.  Aldon’s Better Things was one of our favorite shows when it debuted in 2016, and then the team behind Better Things built on a brilliant first season with a stunning season two.

Best Series Winner 2015: The Jim Gaffigan Show
Best Series Winner 2014: Last Week Tonight

BEST COMEDY MOVIE went to Gilbert Gottfried and Neil Berkeley for GILBERT: A GILBERT GOTTFRIED STORY, in a nailbiter of a vote that went right down to the wire.  A bizarre and beautiful story, Gilbert has all the elements you want in a documentary about a comedian who has never shared his private life with his fans.

Best Movie Winner 2016: Deadpool
Best Movie Winner 2015: Trainwreck
Best Movie Winner 2014: Grand Budapest Hotel

For the BEST COMEDY BOOK category, Doug Stanhope kept the belt, after winning last year for his brutally honest Digging Up Mother: A Love Story, he upped his own game this year with THIS IS NOT FAME: A FROM WHAT I RE-MEMOIR, which rivals Rock and Roll tell all memoirs in terms of darkness, debauchery, and disturbing honestly. It’s also full of life.  Congratulations to Stanhope, we’re hoping for a hat trick in 2018.

Best Book Winner 2016: Doug Stanhope: Digging Up Mother
Best Book Winner 2015: Colin Quinn: The Coloring Book
Best Book Winner 2014: Joan Rivers: Diary of a Mad Diva

In the stand-up categories, BEST COMEDY ALBUM was unbelievably competitive this year, with 10 killer albums from great artists. The winner this year goes to JOE DEROSA for his darkly satirical album, YOU LET ME DOWN.  A biting examination about our culture’s obsessive relationship with sports, the hideousness of people in charge of things, and shitty celebrities, you definitely want to download this album. Congratulations Joe!

Best Album Winner 2015: Jay Mohr ‘Happy and a Lot’
Best Album Winner 2014: Big Jay Oakerson: The Crowdwork Series

This year there were more specials released than ever before and it was a pretty strong year with some hours coming from the biggest names in the business.  But our readers didn’t hesitate to pick their winner early on and nobody could catch him for the BEST COMEDY SPECIAL  award.  With his debut special, released on NETFLIX, you chose JUDAH FRIEDLANDER to win this year, for his brilliant Netflix special AMERICA IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES.  This is how it’s done, and it took a World Champion to do it.

Best Special Winner 2015: Jim Norton: Contextually Inadequate
Best Special Winner 2014: Jim Jefferies: Bare
