Will Arnett to Take Over SiriusXM Indie Rock Airwaves

Comedian and actor Will Arnett will be taking over the airwaves of SiriusXMU on Friday as a part of their Complete Control series.

The indie rock station allows artists and celebrities of all walks of life to come into the studio and play the music they’d like for one day. Tomorrow, it’s Arnett’s turn.

Arnett is five time Emmy nominee, and a screen and voice actor with a deep portfolio, often in comedy projects. On screen, he’s best known as George Oscar Bluth II on Fox’s Arrested Development and Devon Banks on NBC’s hugely popular 30 Rock.  Arnett has also lent his swarthy voice to shows like The Simpsons and he’s the voice star of Netflix’s hit animated series BoJack Horseman. As it turns out, Arnett is also known for something else: his musical taste.

Arnett hand picked each song on the soundtrack of his new Netflix series, Flaked.  He also stars and co-wrote the eight episode series about Chip– a Venice, California resident who falls for his best friend’s girl.

Arnett– an avid indie rock fan– even got Stephen Malkmus of the band Pavement to contribute original material to the show’s score. Alongside Malkmus’s tracks will be music by bands such as Youth Lagoon, Junip, EL VY, and Local Natives, all selected by Arnett. During his Complete Control takeover tomorrow, fans can expect to hear a history lesson on indie rock old and new coupled with some surely hilarious behind the scenes commentary from Arnett on the filming of Flaked and his process behind selecting the soundtrack. Arnett will be going on the air at 6 am EST Friday 3/11 on SiriusXMU channel 35.

All eight episodes of Flaked premiere on Netflix the same day.
