Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: January 7, 2017?

This week is the last week of the Saturday Night Live mid-season break.  Team SNL has had the last three weeks off for the holidays, and so there will be no new episode tonight. There will be a repeat episode airing tonight, with Tom Hanks hosting and Lady Gaga as musical guest, but don’t expect to see the monologue starting in its usually 11:30 start time on the East Coast. NBC will be airing the NFL Wildcard playoff game between the Seahawks and the Lions on Saturday night which will bump SNL ahead to a midnight start time.

The episode, which originally aired on October 22nd marked the ninth time Tom Hanks hosted. That seems crazy, but what makes it even crazier is that Hanks hadn’t hosted in ten years prior to his October 22nd return.

Expectations were high for the Hanks-helmed episode and everyone delivered. Highlights included a Trump-Hillary Debate cold open, a hilarious round of Black Jeopardy featuring Hanks, and the world premiere of the unforgettable David S. Pumpkins.

Saturday Night Live will return live next week, January 14, 2017 with host Felicity Jones and musical guest Sturgill Simpson.
