Who is hosting SNL tonight?
After a week off, the Saturday Night Live stage will be bright again, with a brand new live show tonight. Hosting the show is Kristen Stewart who most people know from her starring role as Bella in the Twilight series. For those who are not fans of the genre, you’ve also seen her playing a different kind of role- a bit more rock and roll and than her Bella performances- in Into the Wild, The Runaways, or On the Road. She was also in Woody Allen’s most recent- Cafe Society and the acclaimed Clouds of Sils Maria.
Stewart got a lot of attention at film festivals this year as well. Both Cannes and Toronto were buzzing over Personal Shopper, which opens in the U.S. on March 10. Stewart plays a young American in Paris making her living as a personal shopper for a celebrity, who also may have the psychic ability to communicate with spirits.
It’s Stewart’s first time hosting (or appearing) on Saturday Night Live, but she’s more than ready as you can see in the new promos. Will she sing tonight? Even if she doesn’t, you can hear her sing in the first promo for this week’s episode. Stewart wrote a song for cast member Beck Bennett. It’s not very long… but it’s really good.
In a more traditional promo, you can see Kristen looking more punk rock, decked out in a Ramones t-shirt. She appears with musical guest Alessia Cara and a very tall Leslie Jones who accuses her and Alessia of being either Keebler Elves, or Girl Scouts.
