Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: April 22, 2017

Who is Hosting SNL tonight?

Just when you feel like SNL is back, they’re back on break again. Saturday Night Live will not be live tonight, but NBC is running a repeat episode from earlier this season that will make a lot of people happy. Get ready to re-enjoy 2016’s Halloween episode, featuring guest host Tom Hanks, which of course means another chance to watch the dumbest and possibly most popular sketch of the entire season- David Pumpkins.

If you didn’t watch the episode when it originally aired, you still know what that means, because David Pumpkins somehow took America by storm, and refused to let go for weeks. Now that you’ve finally gotten that damn song and catchphrase out of your head, it’s the perfect time to relive the horror. Any questions?

But Pumpkins wasn’t the funniest or best sketch of the night; that honor might go to one of the best editions of Black Jeopardy! ever to air. The episode featured Kenan Thompson as the Black Jeopardy! host, and Sasheer Zamata, Leslie Jones and a redneck white trash Tom Hanks as contestants. Hanks is outstanding, but the real credit goes to the writers. Also in contention was a digital short about how shit goes sideways when girls celebrate Halloween, and a return to a happier time, politically, when the Presidential Debates were still entertaining everyone, and Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon parodied Debate #3.

This episode was a milestone for Hanks, marking his ninth time hosting Saturday Night Live. The episode originally aired on Saturday, October 22nd and featured Lady Gaga as musical guest.

Saturday Night Live will return, live, on May 6 with guest host Chris Pine.
