What Did You Miss on SNL Last Night? Larry David Pissed Off Twitter With a Concentration Camp Joke
Late Saturday night into Sunday morning, Twitter does what it does better than any other social media platform. It exploded in outrage over something that happened on Saturday Night Live. Last night, Larry David was the host of a new Season 43 episode of SNL and he took the stage by going back to his roots and doing some real stand up material. No song & dance numbers. No interruptions by a guest cameo. Just Larry David telling jokes. That’s when Twitter had its usual and almost pre-scheduled meltdown.
In Larry David’s SNL monologue, he did a bit on how obsessed with women he is and how he thought even if he was a Jew back in Hitler occupied Poland in the 1940s during World War II, that obsession would still be just as strong. He segued into a bit of dark humor after mentioning that he was uncomfortable with the recent sexual assault charges in the news involving alleged predators who are Jewish. For anyone who didn’t know, Larry David is Jewish and his religion factors in quite heavily on his hit HBO series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm“.
On the SNL stage, Larry David talked about how there would have been no good pick-up lines in a Concentration Camp and then went on to act out a scene by himself of trying to hit on a woman who was interred in a prison camp. He began by saying, “I’ve always been obsessed with women, and I’ve often wondered: If I’d grown up in Poland when Hitler came to power and was sent to a concentration camp, would I still be checking out women in the camp?” He added, as if talking to a captive woman, “How’s it going? They treatin’ you okay? You know, if we ever get out of here, I’d love to take you out for some latkes. You like latkes?”
At that point, barely even 15 minutes into the show, Twitter’s uproar was unleashed in a 140 characters or less. There were plenty of people who said that “concentration camp” humor is never ever funny. Some took it further by saying Larry David is not funny, while others pondered what could Saturday Night Live, its EP Lorne Michaels and the writing staff be thinking to even come up with this material.
Below are a few expressions of disgust for Larry David from offended Twitter users who had their Saturday night ruined by his jokes about concentration camps.
WTF is wrong with Larry David? Did he actually think mixing sexual harassment with concentration camp humor is funny? What a train wreck

Larry David joking about dating women in a concentration camp is horrific. His thinking that shocking audience is funny is sick. Loser.

Larry David's Holocaust joke on #SNL offensive, not because it was about ogling women in a concentration camp. Offensive because: not funny.
