Warner Bros Has A “No Jokes” Policy In Its Superhero Movies

Justice_League_early_a_article_story_largeThere’s a rumor in the movie business that Warner Bros has instituted a “No Jokes” mandate for its superhero movies. The policy applies to “Batman V. Superman” and other DC Comics franchises. The studio wants these scripts being kept serious after the critical and box office failure of its very light-hearted “Green Lantern” movie. Fine, Warner Bros. But if movie goers can’t laugh at a character whose parents were murdered in front of him as a child and another who lost his parents and entire planet in a global Armageddon, then who can they laugh at?
