Wanda Sykes, Tig Notaro Gina Yashere Topline Amazing Lineup Set for Women In Comedy Fest

The 9th annual Women In Comedy Fest hits the city of Boston in April, and they’ve announced one of their best lineups yet. Wanda Sykes and Tig Notaro will be headlining the festival at Boston’s Le Chevalier theater, with additional performances by heavyweights like Kat Radley, Gina Yashere, Emma Willman, Boston’s own Kelly McFarland, and more.

The HBO and NBC-sponsored festival takes place April 19 – 22, and in addition to featuring stand up will also present interviews, panel discussions and workshops.

The goal of the Women in Comedy Festival (WICF) is to help close the gender gap in comedy by showcasing women and their allies across all comedic platforms and celebrate comedy from different perspectives. All of our offerings are open to people of all genders. WICF features diverse performers, and brings together individuals from all walks of comedy, giving comedy audiences a chance to see work from both local and nationally known comedians, and enabling industry a chance to scout terrific talent in historic and beautiful Boston.

Confirmed industry executives include: Kelly Edwards (Vice President of Talent Development, HBO);
Jandiz Estrada Cardoso (Director of Talent Development Programming, NBC), Jeanne Mau (Vice President
of Entertainment Diversity, CBS); Karen Horne (Senior Vice President, Programming Talent Development &
Inclusion, NBC); Daria Overby (Director, Creative Diversity STARZ Entertainment); Julia Pleasants (Talent
Coordinator Disney TVA Casting) and Sophia Salador (Associate Producer, Just For Laughs).

Last years festival boasted a slate of over eighty shows and over two hundred performers, there were workshops, panels, and podcast recordings and priceless advice from panelists like Kelly Edwards, Vice President of Talent Development and Programming at HBO, Eliza Skinner, Writer for Funny or Die and The Late Late Show with James Corden, Eliza Bayne (TV Writer and Ghostwriter) and Jessica Pilot (Stand Up Scout and Producer), Naomi Ekperigin (Stand Up and Writer for Broad City and Difficult People) and SNL’s Rachel Dratch.
