The story featuring the mullet wearing custodian who makes good is getting another chapter. David Spade will be doing a sequel to his 2001 comedy “Joe Dirt”. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new movie will be exclusive to Sony’s Crackle online network.

“Joe Dirt 2” will pick up where the last film left off. David Spade says he’s excited to dust off the mullet. “I’m beyond stoked that Joe Dirt will finally hit the screens again on Crackle. I’ve been sleeping in this wig for years and it will be nice to wear it in the daytime again.” The movie will be produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. However, “Joe Dirt 2” has nothing to do with Sandler’s deal to make films for Netflix. Production on the movie starts in November in Louisiana and it premieres next year.

Sony’s Crackle is also the home to Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”, the drama “Sequestered” and “Sports Jeopardy!” with Dan Patrick.
