Vanessa Bayer Departing Saturday Night Live After Season Finale Tonight?

Earlier this week, it was announced that tonight’s Saturday Night Live season finale would be the last show for longtime cast member Bobby Moynihan. According to Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva, Vanessa Bayer will also be leaving the show after seven seasons. Andreeva has not named a source and there has been no confirmation from Saturday Night Live, NBC or Bayer, but The Hollywood Reporter says a source confirmed the news to them on Saturday.

Prior to joining SNL in 2010, Bayer performed in Chicago with Second City, Chicago’s Annoyance Theatre and ImprovOlympic. Bayer’s best known recurring characters are Jacob, a young Jewish boy with a strange accent, child actor Laura Parsons, and one of our favorites, the mom who serves Totino’s Pizza Rolls to her “team.” Bayer is also a frequent contributor to the stable of Weekend Update characters. She also has a long list of celebrity impressions to her credit, but none better than her recent Jennifer Aniston impression which blew away audiences. In addition to SNL, Bayer has been busy with plenty of outside work. She co-starred in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck, appeared on HBO’s Crashing, and had multiple guest appearances on Portlandia, among other roles.

So far there’s no official word on Bayer leaving the show, or whether it was her decision or the show’s, but we’ll update you with further information as it becomes available.
