Upcoming Paramount Network Snags Melissa McCarthy Series From TVLand

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone’s comedy series Nobodies is leaving TVLand and heading to a new home- still being built. The new network- dubbed Paramount Network- hails from Viacom and will take the place of male-aimed Spiketv early next year, according to hollywoodreporter.com.

The series follows three writers navigating the perils of Hollywood while being talented “nobodies” in the business and desperately pitching what they know will be their big breakout project. Much like Showtime’s Episodes, the show mimics real life and is in fact based on the lives of the three Groundlings alumni-Larry Dorf, Rachel Ramras, and Hugh Davidson-who play characters who are essentially themselves. Famous friends show up throughout the series- Melissa and Ben of course but there’s also Kristin Wiig, Cheryl Hines, Maya Rudolph and plenty more.

The new season will air in 2018 and will join already acquired series Heathers and American Woman.
