TV Show “Friends” Helps Some Baseball Players Learn English

Some baseball players from Spanish speaking countries say they got help learning how to speak English by watching episodes of Friends because the actions are really easy to interpret with their native languages’ subtitles. “If they say ‘happy,’ you see he’s happy and the subtitle says ‘feliz’, then you can learn. You might not learn 100 percent, but you’ll learn to associate,”said Phillies shortstop Freddy Galvis.

This explains why ballplayers are always walking around saying “Could I BE in anymore of a slump!?”
