CBS may have passed on the Gaffigan Show but TV Land wants in, and ordered 10 episodes. The show is based on Jim’s life as a married man with five kids, and is described as “one man’s struggle in New York City to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy, and an insatiable appetite.”

Joining Gaffigan are Adam Goldberg playing Jim’s best friend, Ashley Williams as the Mrs, and Michael Ian Black as a friend of Jim’s wife. Tongayi Chirisa will also be a part of the supporting cast.

“I am thrilled that TV Land is giving us this opportunity to do this show that Peter, Jeannie and I have been fine-tuning for three years,” Gaffigan said. “I’m probably most excited about the craft service. I gained 20 pounds for this role. OK, fine. It was 40 pounds.”

Episodes will be airing on TV Land in 2015 and will replay on Comedy Central a week later.

So should we expect a Hot Pockets story arc?
