Triple Crown Hopes Crushed Again!
So much for the Chromies. California Chrome, the horse that was expected to win the first Triple Crown in 36 years, didn’t even come close. Tonalist was the big winner of the 2014 Belmont Stakes followed by Commissioner and Medal Count. The winning time was 2:28.52. California Chrome’s time was listed as – “We’re still waiting”. California Chrome’s owner, Yosemite Sam, was furious after the race, claiming his horse was targeted. He then shot off two pistols and screamed something about hating rabbits.
Breathe Right was hoping to go viral with a California Chrome win because the horse wears a giant nasal strip while he races. The company even passed out 50,000 Breathe Right strips to the crowd at Belmont. Oddly enough, after the race, 60,000 were turned back in.
