Judd Apatow’s take on modern relationships is being billed as unflinching, hilarious and excruciatingly honest. Premiering on Netflix on February 19th, the series is created, written and executive produced by Judd Apatow, Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin.

Love follows nice guy Gus (Paul Rust) and brazen wild-child Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, love and other things they were hoping to avoid.

In the trailer, Gus and Mickey say fuck you to movies like Pretty Woman, When Harry Met Sally, Sweet Home Alabama and yes, even Homeland Season 3.

This weekend, Apatow led a panel about the series during the Television Critics Association Winter Tour. Apatow was asked why he chose to create ‘Love’ as a serialized project rather than as a movie. Apatow said, “In a TV show, you’re allowed to show all the nuance, and show happy moments and moments in melancholy. It’s much more truthful, because you don’t have to tie it up with a bow.”

The first installment – 10-half-hour episodes – premieres globally Friday, February 19, 2016.
