The Podcast You Absolutely Have to Listen To: Bill’s Monday Morning Podcast

PODCAST BILL BURR

“The Podcast You Absolutely Have To Listen To” is a new series where we talk about the  podcasts on the internet you should be checking out.  If you’re living on planet Earth, you already know about the most famous ones– like WTF with , The Adam Carolla Show, The Nerdist, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Comedy Bang Bang.  But there are literally thousands more and we’re combing through them for you, to let you know which ones you should check out first.  This week, Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast is the Podcast You Absolutely Have to Listen To.

Does the step back into your weekly routine feel like you’re stepping off a cliff ? Bill Burr will ease your weekend hangover because you absolutely have to listen to Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast. Boston comedy legend and one of the top touring stand-up acts in the country, Bill Burr, rants about his life on and off tour and tackles weekly news topics to shed some laughter into your work week. Humble and sometimes admittedly stupid, you will find Burr’s personality to be both charming and addicting.

A weekly update into the life of Bill Burr, the Monday Morning Podcast is one of the few podcasts to feature a comedian going it alone. Doing the hour long podcast solo makes each episode feel like an hour-long comedy set. Burr’s quickness to find humor in the mundane is effortless. His disguised jabs at the world around him land as devastating hooks that will drop you fetal with laughter. From animosity towards sports teams he despises to crappy movies about airplanes, nothing is off target for “Billy Redface” (as his fans call him).

Midway through 2013, Burr announced that he was putting together an actual studio for his podcast in hopes of having comedians in to hang. While it is still unclear if these conversations with comedians will be released under a different show/podcast, a few practice episodes have been posted in this format; one with comedian Jay Mohr (posted 1/16/14) and one with comedic actor David Koechner (posted 12/21/13) and then most recently, Bill invited the popular Doug Stanhope on to reminisce about their early comedy careers (posted 5/12/14). For the most part, Burr is alone on the Monday Morning Podcast.

Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast should be at the top of your listening queue every single week. Burr is a top comedian and his weekly episode postings are a true gem for anybody who appreciates comedy and hardcore Burr fans will really appreciate the added insight into his life outside of his comedy tours. The Monday Morning Podcast wraps with fan letters that Bill addresses personally on the show. Do you have relationship problems?  Did you find out the girl you’ve been crushing on is really a transsexual (yes, a fan actually wrote in with this problem)? Or are you in need of motivation to start something new?  Burr gives out fresh and funny advice to a select group of listeners who write.

Start your week with Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast and get over the fact that the work week has just begun. And in the words of Bill Burr himself, to “go fuck yahself”.
