The IB Sandy Watch

Since so many of our staff, volunteers and readers and listeners are in the path of Hurricane Sandy, some of our readers asked if we could linking any storm related posts in one place.  No, it’s not an emergency information center, you need to go to real news sources for that, but you can check in for info, and if you’re safe, send us storm pictures or stories to our email, or post them in the comments.

It will be a Hicks sick day tomorrow, subways are shut down and 2 days smashed at the racino. The odds are 4-1 against him showing up

      October 28, 2012 at 2:02 pm

@Pool Keepers Son It will be a no fez day either if he can’t make it from Roosevelt Island.

        October 28, 2012 at 2:25 pm

@TheDenRadio @Pool Keepers Son Mass transit is shut down in the city, my guess is that the boys will have a three (or four) day weekend. Live that shit up Peppy, live that shit up!

@Foggy_Otis  @TheDenRadio  @Pool Unless Pepper came home on Sunday afternoon, he’s probably stuck until next week (trains into the city usually take longer to get running than MTA within the city).
Water, Flashlights, and beer were in short supply

@TheDenRadio  @Pool Keepers Son It sucks since there were so many gay stories in the IB wire. Fez probably had 15 minutes of talking material

Weak!!! OnA make it in but they can’t? Hope this isn’t because Fez can’t make it in. He hasn’t made it in in years.

    • BigMikeAris

@OwRainHurts Maybe that’s because O&A’s show was going to be done before the worst hit.

@SpaceAnimal Ha… I lost power maybe 2 hours after that post…  Still no power and no water.  My building is apparently hooked into Hoboken’s electrical grid so it might be another week without any luxuries…

What could be more dangerous now than living on a tiny island in between two rivers? Living on an even tinier island in the middle of one river. God speed, Fez.

Tried my best to get killed today, walked from Bushwick Brooklyn to Lower East Side of manhattan. East river totally swallowed up the east river park. The FDR was partially submerged a lot of people in the projects were trying to drive their cars out of about 4 feet of water and getting nowhere fast. Started to get concerned when some large awnings collapsed near me. Also saw the jet skier dude people on the Williamsburg bridge where loving that guy!

Still without power, but have a dry intact home. People 5 minutes away were devastated. I’m oscillating back and forth between the guilt of the fortunate, and the rage of the inconvenienced.

In Cedar Rapids when the big flood hit it took a couple years to even look somewhat normal. 4 years later we are still dealing with the aftermath. It’s gonna be a
decade before the East coast recovers
