Nobody had better celeb appearances than the Flintstones. Why? Word Play! As a kid it gave you a little giggle to hear some celebs name Bedrockized. It didn’t even matter to you whether the guest was played by the celebrity being impersonated or not. There were dozens of actors, singers, directors, and even fictional characters parodied on the Flintstones. Here are 5 favorites.

- Ann Margrock. Ann Margret appearing on the Flinstones as her Bedrockian alter ego might have been the greatest celebrity cameo in television history. She sang. She danced. She helped Fred and Barney get a much needed win, and she was the sexiest thing on animated television since Bugs Bunny put on lipstick and a wig. Her 1963 episode, Ann Margrock Presents includes Margrock/Margret singing 2 great songs and a clam rock stage all the way from Pismo Beach.
- Ed Sullystone. Ed Sullystone wasn’t played by Ed Sullivan, but who cared? He appeared in two great episodes. His main appearance comes in “Itty Bitty Fred” when the boys do a ventriloquist act with a shrunken down Fred as the puppet. But we prefer Sullystone’s first brief appearence in the episode “The Twitch” introducing Fred as teen sensation Rock Roll. In Bedrock….twitch twitch.
- Alvin Brickrock. Sometimes listed as Alfred Brickrock. In Season two, Fred and Barney try to solve a mystery Alfred Hitchhock style in “Alvin Brickrock Presents“. Fred suspects that his creepy new neighbor (Alvin) has killed his wife. Misunderstandings and hijinks ensue. Good eeeee-ven-ing.
- Rock Quarry. Also in Season Two, “The Rock Quarry Story” stars a Rock-Hudson alike who is sick of Hollyrock and wants to live like Johnny Straphanger. It all goes downhill of course, when Rock decides he wants to be recognized after all, but nobody believes him. John Stephenson, who also voices Mr. Slate, played the reclusive star.
- Stoney Curtis. Mr. Tony Curtis himself voiced this character in Season 5’s “The Return of Stoney Curtis” in 1965. Stoney is in town shooting a new movie. When Wilma win Stoney as their personal slave boy for a day in a sweepstakes contest, Fred is determined to prove what a phony and fraud actors are. That is, until Stoney offers Fred a part in his movie. An instant classic.
