Thursday night was a great night for comedy fans on the Late Late Show. Old and young, black and white, short and tall, comedy legend Mel Brooks shooting the shit with hilarious newcomer Jerrod Carmichael. Looks like NBC has given up on comedy, at least as far as the 2015 Fall schedule is concerned. Entertainment Weekly figured out that this fall, NBC will be airing less than one hour of comedy programming. And they've squished it all into Friday nights, which are not generally considered to be a hot time slot. NBC hasn't been this low on comedy programming since 1978.

NBC has released trailers for two new series centered on stand up comedians-- Mr. Robinson and The Carmichael Show. Both shows are slated for short series runs beginning August 5th and will air on Wednesday nights at 9pm and 9:30pm respectively.
