T.J. Miller Passion Project Gets Picked Up By Comedy Central

Comedy Central’s wrangled up its own weird late night public access-style talk show with the bizarre, absurd “Gorburger Show” to debut this Spring. “Silicon Valley” co-star T.J. Miller voices a gigantic blue puppet whose overtaken a Japanese television studio, enslaved its employees and hijacked its airwaves with his own variety talk show. All eight upcoming episodes of “The Gorburger Show” are as much inspired by the insane times as it is by Miller’s demented imagination. Pertaining to the show, Miller says, “In these times? DAMN we need a blue ass monster alien to talk about what the HECK is going on with humanity. And what is the difference between a hog and a chicken?” Considering the comedian was arrested for slapping a pro-Trump Uber driver, it’s clear which side he leans towards.

The web series has established an off-the-wall and insightful in its successful online run. Eight episodes have sprung from the two seasons and nineteen episodes of the Funny or Die series and garnered appearances and musical performances by Jack Black, Henry Rollins, Flea, Wayne Coyne, Grouplove and Tegan and Sara. This heavy musical influence is also akin to the guests on “The Eric Andre Show”. While the upcoming show’s trailer boasts a brazenly skewed, unorthodox show, picking up this seemingly unconventional show isn’t entirely a bold move for Comedy Central, considering its sizable online presence and established fan base.
