Syfy Airing Leonard Nimoy Marathon Sunday

syfy-channel-spockOn Sunday, Syfy will pay tribute to Leonard Nimoy with a 5 hour TV marathon. It runs from 9am et to 2pm et.

The marathon starts out with a 1961 episode of “The Twilight Zone”, “A Quality of Mercy” featuring Leonard Nimoy. That’s followed by his appearance as Mr. Spock on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” in the two part episode, “Unification”. And the marathon ends with “Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country” from 1991. The script for “Star Trek 6” was based on the story developed by Leonard Nimoy. Although it’s not considered the best of the Star Trek movies, it’s way too soon to air “The Wrath of Khan”.

Syfy has pulled off something remarkable here. It’s the only tribute to Leonard Nimoy that avoided including anything from “Star Trek” the series.
