Stuntman Nick Swardson Appears on Conan

Nick Swardson returned to Conan to talk about his new Netflix movie, “Sandy Wexler“. Actually it’s a new Adam Sandler Netflix movie, but Sandler doesn’t make a film that doesn’t usually include Nick Swardson. While Swardson is a member in good standing with the Sandler Posse or the Sand Band or Happy Gilmore’s Caddies or whatever their cliche is called, that doesn’t mean he’s like the rest of the gang whose core group also includes David Spade, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and Allen Covert among others. One thing that set Nick Swardson apart on “Sandy Wexler” was that he was willing to do his own stunts.

In the Netflix original comedy, Swardson plays a trapeze daredevil who’s not good at what he does or as Swardson describes him, a “low-rent Evel Knievel”. The not-so-great stuntman is managed by Sandler’s title character who also is not the best in the business. Swardson does most of his own stunts in the movie and explained to Conan that his confidence in own abilities was almost his undoing. You can watch the clips below to find out how Nick Swardson almost met his own fiery end because he got “cocky”. Swardson is nursing a knee injury, but that had nothing to do with filming “Sandy Wexler“. That came from a brutal karaoke injury that he also explains in the clips.

Another difference between Nick Swardson and the rest of Sandler’s gang is that whenever the group finds themselves together in Vegas, he takes full advantage of Sin City while the rest of the guys like to be back at the hotel and in bed by 11. His love of Vegas goes hand-in-hand with his love of tattoos. The perennial dude bro gets new ink to mark any special occasion in his life including Lionel Richie concerts. He’s proudly sporting a half of a tattoo on his arm. Who has the other half? That’s a certain boy band member. Watch for the answer below.

You can see Nick Swardson in the new Netflix movie, “Sandy Wexler” starring Adam Sandler. It’s available for streaming on Friday, April 14th.
