Studios Are Sick Of Rotten Tomatoes Power Over Audiences

Now that a Rotten Tomatoes score is really starting to effect box office results, studios are changing their game plan when it comes to reviews. The Emoji Movie got a $24.5 domestic opening even though it was given less than an 8% rating. The review embargo was held until right before the movie rolled out in previews across the country. The studio says this was for younger audiences who gave it an A- CinemaScore. Hmmm, your movie can’t get bad reviews if you don’t let anyone see it! GENIUS!
