Really ironic that one of the more prominent evangelical atheists (and maybe the only funny one) is so CERTAIN his arrangement has never occurred before because the likelihood is so low..given that his philosophical opponents use the same arguments to detect design through probability, and believe they prove the near-certainty of an intelligent creator vs. chance – or at the very least that an intelligent creator is the more reasonable and better supported hypothesis:  “So what’s the probability of a living cell being formed by chance alone? Well very simply the chance of getting the correct amino acid in the correct place in any cell is 1/20. The probability of getting 100 amino acids in the right order would be 1/20 to the power of 100, or about 1 in 10130. But this only relates to a single protein. Life as we know it requires hundreds of thousands of proteins. The odds of this happening by chance are around 10 to the power of 40,000 to 1. As Fred Holye so famously put it, this as as likely as a tornado blowing through a junk yard and producing a jumbo jet.”

@ShowerBench Yet empirical evidence is held up repeatedly and proof of anything Biblical not only stumbles, but falls face first from the starting blocks. Show me one splinter of wood from the Ark. I dare you. Millions of years of evolution is somehow harder to get your mind around than everything being created by an invisible omnipotent brat in 6 days? And so nice of you to use math to prove faith. Your faith has no room for reason and the sciences. I do find it hilarious that you fancy yourself smarter than the panel on QI. It’s quite a hoot, really. If you truly had faith, what a lowly “unintelligent” atheist thinks would never cross your radar.

Stephen Fry was once a coke addict. Probably the only coke babble I would want to listen to. A genius and national treasure.
