St. Louis Can Now Build An NFL Stadium Without Taxpayer’s Permission

With the Rams constantly cockteasing Los Angeles for a stadium, the stadium authority in St. Louis has been hell-bent on building a new park. In fact, they’ve been so dedicated, they just sued their own city to overturn an ordinance that requires a public vote for taxpayer-funded stadiums. And the judge ruled in their favor! Now the city’s leaders can decide on the governor’s proposed $1B stadium ($400M from the public) without the taxpayers having a say in the matter. And the Rams had nothing to do with it! Christ, don’t you Show-Me dumbasses watch John Oliver?
So how much are the Rams worth to St. Louis? Earlier this year, USA Today crunched the numbers, and each Rams game is worth $10M of economic impact to the city. That’s about $80M for the regular season alone. And for comparison, the Cardinals are worth $320M-$350M per season, depending on their postseason success.
