Spotted in New York: Stephen Colbert Marquis on the Ed Sullivan Theater
It wasn’t that long ago that we were sad to witness the removal of the “Late Show with David Letterman” marquis over the historic Ed Sullivan Theater, and the carting out of the Late Show Set, much of it into a dumpster. But things change, and they change fast. Today we spotted a shiny new Marquis on the theater marking the imminent arrival of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Today it was also revealed that Colbert’s first musical guest will be Kendrick Lamar, according to Variety.
“All I really want from a guest is someone who has something to say so I can play with them,” Colbert told reporters. “When you’re interviewing people you don’t know what’s going to happen. That’s how I learned my craft.”
As was previously announced, Colbert’s first guest on the couch will be movie star George Clooney.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert starts on September 8, less than a month away.
