It's been in "pre-production" for several years with Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond) as director and Lebron James starring. Unless someone comes up with a boatload of burnable cash it won't be made.
It’s the 20th anniversary of Space Jam and the director of the original just said the reason there is no sequel in the works to Space Jam, is because nobody in the NBA right now can measure up to Michael Jordan. “I’ve worked with LeBron and I’ve worked with Steph Curry, and as good a player as LeBron is and as good a player as Steph Curry is, they’re not Michael Jordan. We will never see another player like him. He was a transcendent figure, much like Muhammad Ali. He was beyond his sport. These guys aren’t.”
Yeah, but could Jordan drain three’s like Steph? That’s going to be a huge plot point of Space Jam 2.
