South Korea Freaks Out Over Conan
Apparently South Korea really loves Conan. Earlier today South Korean YouTube channel KpopLadiez 5 posted this clip of Conan O’Brien getting the Beatles treatment as he arrived in South Korea at Incheon Airport. Conan was mobbed by media, screaming fans and many adoring Korean women chanting his name, and holding up lifesize cutouts of Conan’s face.
Wednesday night Conan announced that his next big international sojourn would be a trip to South Korea. A letter from a Korean fan inspired the trip, he said. Sunny Li wrote Conan that she had been watching clips of Conan on YouTube instead of studying for the Korean SAT’s, and that she was a huge fan. She sent Conan snacks leading Conan to declare that “if you send me free snacks from your country, I will travel there, in person to thank you. That’s what I do.”
Conan arrived in South Korea today, positively towering over his young South Korean fans and declared on twitter, that he will never leave. Conan says he’ll be tweeting from the Team Coco twitter account @TeamCoco throughout his visit.
