Shoeless Joe Jackson will not be heading to Cooperstown. The man who was associated with helping fix the 1919 World Series (though he was acquitted) will not be taken off the ineligibility list for the Hall of Fame. The new commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred, denied an appeal by Jackson supporters. The odd thing was that the excuse he gave was “he didn’t even have shoes”. Maybe Manfred should learn more about baseball.
