SNL Will Rerun Best Campaign Sketches in Primetime on Election Eve

Larry David Smashes Into Bernie Sanders on SNL with “Bern Your Enthusiasm”

Following an election year spike in Nielsen ratings, “SNL” will resuscitate the past year of presidential campaign sketches and shorts on Election Day’s Eve. A glorified clip show eve on November 7th at 10 PM ET/PT will air the most popular recent “SNL” political sketches, saving viewers the hassle of searching for the same videos on YouTube.

While the show’s availability on streamers and the fluidity of viewing time thanks to those aforementioned streamers has only added to the show’s audience, this election special’s relatively late airing hardly makes it a “can’t-miss” event. Whether the show will lampoon itself for allowing GOP candidate Donald Trump to host is unsure, but Alec Baldwin’s performance as a predatory, lumbering businessman will definitely be reprised. The sketches will undoubtedly focus largely on the last remaining two candidates, but hopefully the odd characters from earlier in the season will also re-emerge. Larry David’s Bernie Sanders never had the full run it deserved.
