SNL Presents Super Bowl Shut Down With Richard Sherman & Marshawn Lynch

Saturday Night Live jumped in on this week’s Super Bowl coverage with a Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman talk show. The cold open featured Jay Pharoah as Sherman, the incredibly intense cornerback who was joined by Kenan Thompson as his teammate, the stoic Marshawn Lynch.

Usually when SNL does impressions of real people, the parodies are way over the top. Not in this case. This was a rare time where the real thing is so extreme, no exaggeration was necessary. Pharoah’s Richard Sherman goes on the verbal attack of kicking someone when they’re already down. Just ask Tom Brady and Michael Crabtree how that feels in real life. And Thompson’s verbally shutdown Marshawn Lynch was every bit as non-talkative as he is in any press conference.

Once again, Taran Killam comes through with an impression that hasn’t been seen on television before as Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Who knew how annoying Carroll’s gum chewing actually is!?
