Frank Sivero, who played mobster Frankie Carbone in Goodfellas, claims that Simpsons writers living next door to him in 1989 imitated his character for animated hoodlum Louie.  According to Deadline, Frank Sivero wants $250 million from “The Simpsons” for co-opting his identity.

The suit also claims that Simpsons producer James L. Brooks was “highly aware of who Sivero was” and was also aware that he created the role of Frankie Carbone, and that ‘The Simpsons’ character Louie would be based on this character.   “Louie” character first appeared in 1991 and has been in over a dozen episodes since then.

On why it took so long for Sivero to file suit, his lawyers say that Brooks kept promising to work with him in the future on different projects and none of that ever happened. FOX hasn’t commented on the multi-million dollar lawsuit yet.

Still waiting on word as to whether Bozo the Clown will sue over Krusty.
