The Simpsons, the longest-running American scripted primetime television series, as well as the country’s longest-running sitcom, welcomes another TV milestone this Sunday. It’s the series’ 600th episode. The big 6-0-0 is also the annual Halloween special. This year is The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror 27. The iconic animated series is marking the occasion with appearances from two comedy greats, Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel. Comedy gossip fans remember when Sarah and Jimmy were America’s favorite comedy power couple. However, Simpsons #600 wasn’t a reunion. Sarah Silverman voices a character in this season’s Treehouse of Horror while Jimmy Kimmel joined Homer Simpson for a 600th episode promo which was shown on his late night talk show.

In the promo, Jimmy Kimmel gets the animated chance of a lifetime when he gets a tour of the Simpsons’ hometown, Springfield, from Homer. The two visit the source of the town’s economy, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, the elementary school where Jimmy gets to do his own Simpsons chalkboard gag and they have a beer at Moe’s Tavern, which Jimmy describes as “even more depressing than I imagined”.

Sarah Silverman appears in Sunday’s Treehouse of Horror as Rachel, Lisa Simpson’s imaginary friend. She’s been forgotten and is back for revenge on Lisa’s real life loved ones. In the sneak peek below, Rachel is after Homer, who calls in some backup. It’s his own imaginary friend, Sergeant Sausage. Can Homer survive Rachel!? Can Sergeant Sausage survive kitchen appliances!? Find out on The Simpsons Episode 600, Treehouse of Horror 27.

The Simpsons airs Sunday, at 8pm on FOX.
