A touring stage production of “Shaun of the Dead” will begin next Spring now that the production company has Simon Pegg’s blessing. Almost Legal Productions which is based in Pegg’s home county of Gloucestershire in England got the okay and put together the stage show for a trial run and now it’s preparing to tour. It’s based on Pegg’s 2004 zom-com directed and co-written by Edgar Wright and co-starring Nick Frost.

The stage production’s director Chas Burns told Chortle, “We had people all over the world asking us to bring it to their countries. The excitement was too much. Our entire cast and crew were doing their best to keep their feet on the ground.”

The “Shaun of the Dead” tour starts in April and the opening run will be limited to England before it possibly makes runs in other countries. The stage show includes audience participation. Theater goers will each get a “goodie bag” full of props to use during the show and the audience is encouraged to dress like zombies. Scary.
