Last week at a screening for the documentary “Cartel Land” Seth Meyers said the U.S. needs to change its position on drugs in America.   “I can’t speak to the broad policy of ‘Should they legalize all drugs,” he said, “but I would say that it’s a broken system now.”

According to Style.com, Meyers  said he has not been able to stop talking about the film since he saw it a few months ago, adding, “I think we all think the drug war is a big issue, and to see a film that really delves into it and to see how it affects people on both sides of the border is really fascinating. And exciting! It’s informative and a thrill ride.”

Meyers hosted a screening of the documentary “Cartel Land” Thursday night, because he said, he is a good friend of filmmaker Matthew Heineman.  The doc is described as a riveting on-the-ground look at the journeys of two modern-day vigilante groups, — a paramilitary group and a citizens uprising group– as they take on their shared enemy, the Mexican drug cartels.
