Selina Meyer may be down, but she’s not out (at least, not yet). In the wake of season five of Veep, protagonist Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is in a slump. Having lost her re-election bid in a historically-close race, Meyer now finds herself, for the first time since the show began, completely out of political office.
In a newly released trailer for season six, we see Meyer doing press appearances, schmoozing her former colleagues, and just generally trying to adjust to life as an ex-President with moderate success. She doesn’t seem particularly happy with the whole situation, but whether or not she’ll try to re-enter the political sphere remains to be seen. Regardless, this next season promises to be a hilarious and insightful look at a side of Selina Meyer that we’ve never seen before.
You can watch the trailer for season six of Veep below; The show returns to HBO on April 16th at 10:30 p.m.
