See What You’re Missing During SNL Live Shows

What is it like to be behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live? To see all of the moving parts that go into transforming Studio 8H from a restaurant to a living room, and then into Donald Trump’s penthouse office?

The folks at SNL have posted a video to YouTube showing that never-before-broadcasted process in action. The clip is from this past weekend’s cold open, which featured Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump, John Goodman as Rex Tillerson, and Beck Bennett as Vladimir Putin. As soon as the trio finish delivering their “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” line, they immediately have to jump off stage as an army of stage hands rushes up to start breaking the set down. In just a minute and a half, the staff manages to take apart, piece by piece, the entire Trump Office set and make way for a fully decorated stage, which Casey Affleck steps out onto just as the last vase of flowers is put in its place.

The only other place you’ll see efficiency like this is in a NASCAR pit area.
