Scripted Series About the Carson Show Coming to Hulu; Watch the Trailer Now

Hulu wants to take you behind the curtain at The Tonight Show in a new series from Paul Reiser, There’s…Johnny. It’s been a long wait for those who have been following the series since it was initially slated for Seeso, and an even longer wait for Reiser (its been a two decade long passion project), but finally, the dramedic series will premiere on Hulu on November 16th.

We saw two episodes earlier this year at the TriBeCa Film Festival and heard from series creator Reiser co-creator David Steven Simon, Director David Gordon Green and cast members Tony Danza, Jane Levy and Ian Nelson.

The series is incredibly unique– its a blend of fact and fiction, integrating actual footage from the Carson show into a scripted fictional storyline about a young Nebraska boy who journeys west to work on the most iconic television show in history, and the people he encounters once he gets there. Through his eyes, we get to go behind the scenes at the Tonight Show and we get to revisit some of the series greatest on-camera moments, including a guest spot from George Carlin in the first episode.

Made with the approval and participation of the Carson estate for the series with access to the entire Carson archive, you can get a glimpse at the series in the brand new trailer below. And watch the series exclusively on Hulu beginning November 16th.
