Saturday Night Live will end the year with back-to-back-to-back brand new shows in December. James Franco, Martin Freeman and Amy Adams will host the last three episodes of 2014, and the first half of SNL’s 40th anniversary season.

On December 6th, James Franco pulls off the hat trick, hosting Saturday Night Live for his 3rd time. He’s not only hosted twice before, but also put out a documentary film about SNL and what goes on to put the show together. His film, “Saturday Night” followed a week of preparations leading up to the episode when John Malkovich hosted in 2008. James Franco returns to SNL on December 6th with musical guest Nicki Minaj. Franco will be promoting the Christmas Day release of his new comedy with Seth Rogen, “The Interview”.

The following week, Martin Freeman will host SNL.   The star of the new film, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” out on December 17th, will be joined by musical guest Charli XCX. Freeman is a hosting newbie and breaks his SNL cherry on Saturday, December 13th.

Then in the last live show of the year, Amy Adams comes back to host for a second time on December 20th. Her SNL musical guest will be One Direction, making their 3rd Saturday Night Live appearance. Amy Adams can also be seen in the new movie “Big Eyes” with Christoph Waltz, out on December 25th.
