Sarah Silverman Talks With Peter Travers About Her Dramatic Turn In ‘I Smile Back’

SARAH-SLIVERMAN

Sarah Silverman talks to Peter Travers of Rolling Stone about leaving the laughs behind to play a depressed drug addict in “I Smile Back”. In the new film, Sarah says there is not even a hint of her comedic self. She plays a wife and mother living in the suburbs who has addictions and is also manic-depressive.

She said even the shooting process was different for her in this movie. The joking around between scenes wasn’t there like she’s used to. Plus, filming such a dramatic part with incredible tense scenes would leave her exhausted. Sarah also talks about her own phobia when it comes to drinking or at least other people’s drinking.

“I Smile Back” premiered this week at the Sundance Film Festival.
