Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has reached a deal with FOX for a pilot for a new sitcom. The single-camera series would be loosely based on Cuomo’s own life. The show is about a rock star in his 30s who walks away from all the fame his music career brings him. The main character is a fictional version of Cuomo who is looking to rediscover himself while surrounded with friends that don’t fit in.

Deadline reports that series is titled “DeTour” and will be produced by Cuomo and Steve Franks who created “Psych” for USA Network. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Weezer’s debut release, “The Blue Album”.

It can’t be confirmed, but from this clip, it looks like Rivers Cuomo’s new comedy series will be set in a 1950s drive-in diner in Milwaukee.
