President George H.W. Bush’s Outgoing Letter To New President Bill Clinton Appears Online

A handwritten note from outgoing President George H.W. Bush to the new Commander in Chief Bill Clinton in 1993 has surfaced. The letter encouraged the new President and offered some advice about dealing with criticism. A letter left in the Oval Office from the former President to the incoming one has become a White House tradition on Inauguration Day. George W. Bush left one in the desk for Barack Obama, along with a lot of bubble gum found under it.
