NBC’s stand up comedy competition show “Last Comic Standing” is back this Summer with a new judge, Norm Macdonald. The former SNL Weekend Update anchorman will be on the panel along side returning judges Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Norm Macdonald replaces Russell Peters as a judge on LCS. Peters is back on the road on his current “Almost Famous” world tour.

Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming at NBC Entertainment said, “We are excited that Norm is joining Roseanne and Keenen in helping us find America’s newest comedy star. This is a hugely talented and iconic panel.” There will be a connection on the judges panel this year. Norm Macdonald wrote for Roseanne’s hit ABC sitcom.

“Last Comic Standing” will be back with the same format as last season. It’s 8 episode run this Summer starts with 100 of the funniest stand ups working today in the opening invite-only audition round. The grand prize winner gets a $250,000 prize and a series development deal from NBC.

Another thing that will be different though in the new LCS season is a new host. Anthony Jeselnik comes on board as the new host, replacing J.B. Smoove.

“Last Comic Standing” premieres Thursday, May 21st on NBC.
