Looks Like ‘Norm Macdonald Live’ is Set To Return September 19th
A few weeks back, we wrote that Louis C.K. had written the foreword to comedian Norm Macdonald’s upcoming memoir, Based on a True Story. In that article, we included this very simplistic tweet from Macdonald, in response to a fan, in which he confirms the return of his long-defunct podcast.

Macdonald had a show on the Video Podcast Network called Norm Macdonald Live, a straight-forward talk show in which he interviewed friends and fellow comedians such as Todd Glass, Adam Sandler and Roseanne Barr. The show was well received, but Macdonald discontinued the show over two years ago. There was scant information about the show’s return, until today.
Astute Redditor FrunkisOA posted a thread to the Norm Macdonald subreddit Friday saying that he’d gotten some information about Norm Macdonald Live’s return. While watching the live stream of comedy network JASH (a fellow VPN member), he asked the JASH chat moderator about NML, and the mod let slip that the show was scheduled to return September 19th.
What’s more, Macdonald apparently plans to release “an episode or two” early sometime next week. The show’s return was obviously meant to coincide with the release of his memoir, Based on a True Story, which hits stores September 20th. On top of rebooting Norm Macdonald Live, the comic is also set to appear on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon (and likely elsewhere) next week to help promote is various projects.
More Norm Macdonald is always a good thing.
