Live Comedy in New York City This Week:

New York features some of the best live comedy in the world every single night, from Manhattan to Queens, Brooklyn and beyond. But with so many to choose from, it can be difficult to find them all and nearly impossible to decide which shows to see. Every week, Christine Marie Evans and Emily Cohen curate this list, carefully reviewing dozens of shows every night, to select the live stand up comedy shows you need check out. Comedy producers can submit their show for consideration for our listings each week.

Show: Kevin Nealon

Description of Show and Lineup:

As one of the longest running cast members on NBC’s (1986- 1995), Nealon created some of the show’s most memorable characters, including ‘The Subliminal Man’ and ‘Hans and Franz.’ Nealon’s recurring role as an anchor on ‘Weekend Update’ made the sketch a show staple. In 1988 Kevin earned an Emmy Award nomination as part of the SNL writing team. Last year, Nealon hosted TBS’s Funniest Commercials of the Year for the fifth time. This special highlights the most outrageous and ridiculous commercials from around the world. In late 2009, Nealon’s first one hour stand up special, “Kevin Nealon: Now Hear Me Out!” aired on Showtime to rave reviews. It is currently available on DVD.A sought-after guest star on television, Kevin has made a number of appearances on Hot In Cleveland. Franklin & Bash, Monk, Fat Actress, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Still Standing. In 2008, Nealon released his first book, Yes, You’re Pregnant, But What About Me? – a comical look at the male perspective of pregnancy. The book is available in bookstores.

This show takes you through the impossibly painful journey of saying goodbye while introducing you to his magical, eccentric spirit that has never left. We will cry. But my dad once sent me to school with fake poop to “spice things up in algebra” so we will take breaks from crying as well. My dad always said that there were no bad days. So come, let’s take what would be a bad month, a bad day, and make it into a good one.

Besides having her own show here at Carolines called “Ladies Night With Robyn Schall” she has also been in the NY Comedy Festival and won 1st place in the Hoboken Comedy Festival Competition.  You have seen her on TV shows such as The Bethenny Show, Wendy Williams Show, Raising McCain, The Little Couple and Live At Gotham. Robyn was a regular on this past season of The List on the WWE network and has just filmed two pilots; one for the Oxygen network and the other for WE network.  In addition, she is currently a writer for a new sketch comedy show on the WWE Network called Edge and Christian’s Show that Totally Reeks of Awesomeness.
