Greg Poehler announced via an emotional instagram that NBC has cancelled comedy series “Welcome to Sweden” due to what he called “craptastically low ratings.”  It was somewhat of a surprising move after the show announced a “Win a Trip to the Set of Welcome to Sweden” earlier this summer.

When a series is cancelled it’s always rough. Sometimes the performers involved avoid talking about it, others make jokes or shrug it off. Series creator Greg Poehler went in another direction, opening up and sharing the pain. “When you make a show – and write, produce, obsess and and act in it – all you want us for someone, somewhere, to tell you they appreciate it,” Poehler wrote. “There have been so many of you in both Sweden and the US that have done so, and every compliment has made me immeasurably happy. So, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!”

Poehler shared the show’s accomplishments, and thanked everyone involved in the show’s creation, saying “Worry not. The best is yet to come. For me and for you.” Read his full statement below.
