Nathan For You, Drunk History Get Third Seasons
Fans of Nate Fielder’s hit Comedy Central show, Nathan For You, and the acclaimed Drunk History have something to rejoice about. Comedy Central has renewed both of their hit series for third season runs. This is big news for the station as the momentum of successful and consistently funny series will continue. Added to a slew of recently renewed series (Inside Amy Schumer, The Kroll Show, Review, Broad City, and Trip Tank), both series will premier their third season in 2015.
Both shows are successful in their own right. Drunk History has seen an increase in viewership through each of the two seasons it has aired. The inebriated tours across America became the #1 original series in all of television during its time slot (Tuesday’s 10pm) with men ages 18-39 during Season Two. Comedy Central hopes to see the ratings continue to climb for the series. Series host, Derek Waters (@derekwaterss) and director Jeremy Konner will return for season three along with yet another start studded cast of comedy cameos.
The renewal of Nathan For You was icing on the top of an incredible week for comedian Nate Fielder. After winning the Just for Laughs Breakout Comedian of the Year award in Montreal, Fielder learned that his equally successful television series had been renewed for another season. Season Two found a near 50% ratings increase among adults 18-49 vs Season One. Airing after Drunk History, Fielder’s show also ranks #1 for original television series in it’s half an hour later timeslot among men 18-39.
What does this all mean? Comedy Central has Tuesday night on lockdown. “Is there any comedy well deeper to draw from than history and business marketing?” asks Comedy Central Head of Development, Kent Alterman.
You can watch Nathan For You on Tuesday nights at 10pm and catch new episodes of Drunk History immediately following at 10:30pm.
