Miss The Letterman Goodbye Last Night? Here’s Most of It

letterman finale

If you missed the final episode of the Late Show with David Letterman you missed big ovations, lots of thanks, a few looks back, and a celebrity studded Top Ten list.  There were no real emotional moments, Dave took the show out in almost exactly the same fashion as he conducted the show for the last few decades– level and steady, having a good time, and professional as always.  If he felt sad, or excited, or anxious for the future, you wouldn’t know it.  He was just Dave.  If you were looking for emotion, turn to his colleagues for that.  Watch Conan’s heartfelt sendoff from last night, or Jimmy Kimmel sharing his feelings about Dave, or Norm’s last appearance. You won’t see it here below.

The Opening: Dave Walks Out

Dave got a literally thunderous ovation last night walking out onto the stage, to do his very last show in the Ed Sullivan theater.

Letterman’s Last Monologue

Dave kicked the night off with a nod to the Late Night Wars that started it all and announcement about what he and Paul are off to do next, after over 6,000 shows.

The Best of Letterman and Kids

What we’ll miss most are the kids….and the glasses.

The Last Letterman Top Ten List Ever

Ten giant stars, most of them comedy stars, walked on stage to help Dave with his last Top Ten list. Jim Carrey, Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin all stopped by to help out.  You can read the Top Ten List meme style, here. Kevin Kanach skipped his own meme’d from the headlines today to share Dave’s first Top Ten list.  You decide which you like best.

Classic Dave: Letterman Works at Taco Bell

That’s so weird cause just last night Corden worked as a waiter.

The Presidents Wish Dave Well

We’re still not sure whether to be impressed with Dave or disappointed in our political system.

A DAVE in the Life

Ever wonder what Dave did the rest of his day before taping the show?  Neither did we.  But apparently some people do.

Dave Thanks Everyone, Shout Out to Tommy Robot

It’s all about Tommy Robot.

Foo Fighters, and 33 Years of Dave Montage, Featuring Andy Kindler

The pictures went by so fast we’re still not even sure who we missed, but somehow everyone saw Kindler.

That’s it.  That’s all. Now on to The Mentalist.
