Michelle Wolf Gets Her Own Talk Show

Now that Netflix has cornered the market on stand up comedy hour specials, it looks like they are looking to also conquer the comedian-helmed talk show market. After canceling Chelsea Handler’s “Chelsea” earlier this year, the streaming platform has developed a few new talk shows including one from David Letterman and another starring Joel McHale.

Today Neflix announced that newcomer Michelle Wolf is the latest to snag her own Netflix Talk Show. The show doesn’t have a title yet but promises to fix what’s currently ailing most late night programming. Expect Wolf to give viewers a break from the seriousness that currently surrounds shows like The Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Wolf has plenty of experience in late night talking- she was a writer with Late Night w/ Seth Meyers, and has since served as a correspondent on The Daily Show.

“You can expect the types of jokes my former bosses would tell me we couldn’t do on TV,” Wolf said in a statement.

No preaching, no political agenda, just funny. The new series will premiere later in 2018.

Her career has been on a hot streak lately, she just taped her first hour special with HBO (it was one of the year’s strongest) and everyone who picks who is great in the industry has been adding Wolf’s name to their lists.

Michelle will Executive Produce through her Cats in Pants banner. Daniel Bodansky will also Executive Produce. Dan Powell (Inside Amy Schumer) and Christine Nangle (The President’s Show, The Mick) will serve as co-show runners and Executive Producers.
