Martin Scorsese HBO Project is a Go with Dice, Ray Romano

Martin Scorsese’s hour-long drama series starring Bobby Cannavale has been ordered to series by HBO. The new drama will explore the music business in the 1970’s through the eyes of a record executive trying to resurrect his label in the face of the emerging punk and disco markets and will shoot in New York, and will star two prominent comedy personalities– Ray Romano and Andrew Dice Clay.

Bobby Cannavale will be playings the president of the record label, Richie Finestra, with Olivia Wilde playing his wife. Ray Romano co-stars as Zak Yankovich, one of Richie’s partners and the head of promotions at the label with some mob ties, and Dice will play the owner of a chain of radio stations with a coke habit. Also on board are Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, and James Jagger as the lead singer of a punk band.

Scorsese will executive produce with Mick Jagger, Terrence Winter (who will act as showrunner), Rick Yorn, Victoria Pearman, Emma Tillinger Koskoff and George Mastras.
